For Hot Water Heater selections, we give our customers choices. Today many customers prefer the new high-efficiency tankless heaters that provide an endless stream of hot water. This is especially true for families with teenagers who always seem to leave the adults with no hot water for their shower.
There are two types of water heaters to consider.
Tank or traditional water heaters
Traditional water heaters use a storage tank that varies in size from 20 to 80 gallons. Most families will require a 40 to 50 gallon Water Heater. These come in both Gas and electric versions and have a variety of venting systems and efficiency ratings. You can expect energy savings over an older and less efficient model that is installed in your home now. Proudfoot will work with you to determine the exact configuration for your needs and budget. A traditional heater should last around ten years and newer models will save you about 7% per year in costs
Tankless Water Heaters
Tankless heaters only heat water when needed. There is a slight delay in producing hot water, but once it starts it will continue to flow as long as it is needed. SO if you like long showers, or you are filling a huge jetted tub, this choice makes sense. The cost is higher initially but is far more efficient and has a lifespan of 15-20 years. Proudfoot offers attractive financing for purchases of this sort.
